莫拉克颱風(八八水災)新聞英文

颱風新聞屬災難新聞的一個小環節，災難新聞是所有新聞英語當中最容易的，因此英語颱風新聞當然更容易入手，建議初學者可多讀些英語颱風新聞。

此次莫拉克颱風重創（devastate）台灣，專家指出是二百年來最嚴重的水患（flooding），超過1959年的八七水災，災民們悲傷地哭喊「天地不仁」。

只是十幾二十年前幾乎沒聽過土石流（mudslide），然而曾幾何時，mudslide已成為每次豪大雨（heavy rain, torrential rain）時必然跟著出現的災難（disaster, calamity, catastrophe）。大家也都逐漸明白，這其實是人類貪焚過度地開發山坡地、最後招致大自然反撲的結果。

金帥飯店在人們眼前如悲劇英雄般地塌倒（tumble, topple, collapse）在知本溪裡，令人難以置信（incredible, unbelievable）、目瞪口呆（astonish, shock, stun）！老闆謝見成一輩子的努力，一夕之間灰飛煙滅、付諸流水，只能無語問蒼天（speechless to question Heaven）！

小林村全村滅頂，更是慘不忍睹。居民說當土石流第一次噴發時的聲響，就像是千萬的鬼魅齊來索命一般！

回想起中國大陸去年的大雪災（blizzard），沒有震撼的聲響，大雪就這麼靜靜地下著，然後幾乎是半壁神州就逐漸覆蓋在白茫茫的大雪中。如果大雪持續地下著不停呢？如果豪大雨持續者下個不停呢？大雨、大雪為什麼會下、又為什麼要停呢？

誰說天地不仁、人定勝天，渺小地如滄海之一栗的我們，能不「敬天」、「謝天」嗎？！

Chest-high flooding submerged the town of Botolan in Zambales province, 210 kilometers north of Manila .

A tribal leader said around 12,000 residents had evacuated their homes.
